This work has been really successful and the numbers
of households living in TA in London continues to decline.
The work with CLG has included:
Conducting a series of diagnostic visits for councils reliant on
high numbers of TA units, to health check services and identify
scope for ensuring the target is met early or on time
Writing and distributing the 2007 Homelessness Prevention
Survey and analysing the results. The findings from this are
published as Policy Briefing 19
Producing a series of briefing papers for distribution to local
authorities
Developing a supply and demand model which can form the
basis of TA Reduction Strategies for councils
Benchmarking the costs of various forms of TA, in particular
ensuring councils are getting value for money
